We were incredibly blessed to have the opportunity for my daughter to work with Jenny during her senior year of High School. My daughter’s dance technique had been steadily improving and she was a strong dancer.
The one element that needed more attention was her ability to tell a story through dance and connect with her audience. After only one session with Jenny, I saw a dramatic improvement in my daughter’s performance skills.
She LOVED working with Jenny and would leave her sessions with Jenny energized, excited and full of joy. She was connecting with dance in a way I had never seen before and when I saw her perform on stage, I felt as if I were watching an entirely new dancer.
She was no longer just dancing, she was an ARTIST. The transformation, growth and maturity I saw in my daughter as a performer, after only a few sessions with Jenny, was astounding! I was especially concerned about the specific iconic moves that Dusty Springfield did when she performed. If you ever watch videos of her on youtube, you would know what I am talking about. They are very specific and iconic. Boy, did I luck out! When Jenny Spencer came on board as our choreographer…she nailed it! Every nuanced movement Dusty did, she absorbed and translated to me. She helped me embody the physicality of Dusty in a way that was profound and necessary.
She also choreographed a great show for the other characters in the musical. We had other group numbers and solo numbers that set the roof on fire.
Jenny is incredibly talented, intelligent, kind and gentle. She can work with both dancers, "movers" and non-dancers. Jenny meets you at your skill level and makes everyone feel comfortable, secure, confident and great about the work that they are putting on the stage.
I would recommend Jenny for any project. She is a blessing and anyone would be lucky to have her on their team."
